<p>This Linux device uses the <strong>ARM chip</strong> architecture, and it is a big move away from the usual Intel/Microsoft Windows model for the computers.</p>
<p>The common term ‘smartbook’ is being used by <a href="http://www.lenovo.com/xe/en/" target="_blank"><strong>Lenovo</strong></a> to describe the product – it is smaller than a netbook, but it’s bigger than a smartphone.<span id="more-612"></span></p>
<p>The Skylight weighs about a kilogram, and has about 10 hours of battery life. It has a 10 inch screen, and comes equipped with Wi-Fi, and 3G connectivity.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="560" height="340" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/W_5xseu2EvE&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="340" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/W_5xseu2EvE&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>Most netbooks use Windows XP, and have Intel’s Atom processors.</p>
<p>However, this Skylight, even though it comes with <strong>Linux</strong>, will be customized so as to not alienate mainstream customers.</p>
<p>“The interface is quite easy to use.”</p>
<p>“Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor is becoming quite an important player in smartphones, and <a href="http://www.google.com/phone/?locale=en_US&amp;s7e=" target="_blank"><strong>Google’s Nexus</strong></a> One handset is the most recent one to use it.”</p>
