HTC are a Chinese company, based in Taiwan, specialising in developing high end smartphones that continually push the boundaries of what is possible on a mobile phone.
They have had massive success over the last few years, with phones such as the Wildfire selling all over the world and bringing the Android operating system to the forefront of mobile phone software. One phone above all others has made HTC one of the biggest mobile phone developers in the world and still continues to sell extremely well into 2011, despite being almost a year old.

This phone is, of course, the HTC Desire. The phone has exceeded all expectations and with the release at the end of 2010 of the High Definition version of the phone, the HTC Desire HD, it seems as if the phone’s future looks just as bright as the last 12 months.

With the success of the HTC Legend in mind, the HTC Desire features popular on the previous phone. This is used in conjunction with one of the best touchscreens on the market. The very responsive screen features a great virtual keypad so sending texts should not be a problem at all. It is also extremely bright and colourful with only the iPhone 4 really having a sharper display at the moment.

HTC have also worked extremely hard to make the Android OS their own and their little touches that separate this phone from other Android handsets really make the difference, turning it from a good phone into a great one.

The Desire is much faster than the Legend and this makes a real difference as there is lots more room for applications, media and more. It is also more interactive than HTC’s previous efforts, allowing you more options in terms of interface, widgets, wallpaper etc.
All in all the Desire is very much one of the best phones on the market. Others may come along this year but they have their work cut out in challenging the Desire.
